18th Birthday gift - 1941 style.

Mum's 97th Birthday last Thursday.  She is now in a Care Home from last October and I had to clear her home quite quickly as we had suitable tenants wishing to move in.  Luckily Mum was not a hoarder and a downsize had happened 23 years ago when she moved back to Essex.
Found this little wooden wall plaque which I do not recall seeing hanging in our home but Mum obviously treasured it.
What a difference from the kind of 18th Birthday present that may be expected today.  Maybe there were other presents but at this stage in the middle of WW11perhaps not.  What a lovely sentiment chosen by loving parents for their only child.  Extra shows their message to her on the reverse.
