Glen Etive
Rey excited today as we left for our first holiday since the pandemic started, well aware that we are nowhere near through it. Glencoe and Hf felt safe and welcoming and so we arrived after a bride stop at the Falls of Falloch, a lay-by just north of Bridge of Orchy where we stopped for a livnic lunch and were joined by a convey of people celebrating Eid, making it tricky to find a suitable reversing spot out. We detoured down Glen Etive, busy but not excessively so and the blip is taken where the Glen meets the Loch Etive and the road ends.
Altshallach is lovely and the nicest HF hotel I have stayed in, I think we are in an upgraded room, allocation is random during this strange half open period. Delicious dinner with Scottish produce including mother’s pride bread with the broth and Irn Bru ice cream.
The second blip is the front of the house formerly the residence of the Espiscopal Bishop of Argyll and the Isles, since then Fort William, the Pines in Oban and more recently Ganavan.
