Bridge over the White Cart

I'm sure that every visitor to Pollok Country Park passes the end of this bridge after walking past the front of Pollok House.

Countless feet (human and canine), bicycle wheels, scooters and buggies have crossed the river.

Every time I stand on the bridge I recall the game we used to play in the school playground..... Can I cross the river? The reply was always .... Only thing if you're wearing the colour ..... Those who were wearing the chosen colour could cross safely the rest had to make a rash and try to evade capture.
