From the days before everyone had a phone, this ghost sign in Alexandra Street announces:

There must have been a funeral directors here for some time, because a stone on the corner of the building is painted "Wm Stewart, Joiner and Undertaker". A quick search on Google finds that Alex. Stewart was a Funeral Undertaker here in 1889, according to the Perthshire Directory of that year.
