Chaps at a distance
We had a lovely evening with Ruth and John. Despite being ill after needing 2 stem cell transplants he was in good form.
In the morning we walked the hot Ipswich pavements to see Dennis on his first day out of quarantine after 4 weeks. (2 weeks prior to his bladder cancer op and 2 weeks after it). He was in good spirits despite getting the biopsy news that he’ll
Need further investigations and maybe more treatment all this on top of a quadruple bypass just before lockdown. His resilience if amazing.
We took our packed lunch to Christchurch Park where we sat under a lively old tree to shade ourselves from the 30 C temperature.
Mr C wanted to walk back to ensure we had done enough steps so we were a sweaty mess by the time we got to our van. John has removed some recalcitrant branches from a tree and directed Mr C in turned the van in limited space so that we were facing in the write direction to get out the drive in the morning.
A quick shower and Carole (Dennis’s ex) and David arrived to drive us to their house - first time in someone’s car. (All windows open and all with masks on.). We had a lovely catch up with nice food in their garden.
She is still undergoing tests for breathlessness - now she’s thinking it might be after effects of Covid after having gone in the London tube with lots of coughing passengers just before lockdown. I hope that’s it, and not anything more sinister.
