Black Tot Day

Its 50 years since the Royal Navy abolished the daily rum ration. It’s probably not a bad thing, state endorsed alcoholism whilst operating heavy machinery and weapons is not a particularly good thing.

The Navy will still occasionally ‘splice the mainbrace’ and issue a rum ration to celebrate specific occasions, like the queen’s jubilee.

This was my dip of the cap, choosing which one to have a tot of before bed. (Not all of them before anyone suggests that!!)
