This pretty flower with the not so pretty name of Fleabane is growing on the river bank and looked lovely in the hot sunshine this afternoon.
My first job of the day was to take Charlie to the vets for his booster jab and to get a dew claw trimmed, I was apprehensive when the nurse came out to the car and led him away, but ten minutes later both came back, the nurse in raptures with him and Charlie with his tail doing cartwheels. The procedure was all very organised with all the 'patients' having to wait in the car and a nurse coming to collect them and bring them back after the consultation. I then had to go to reception to pay the £41.50, which was money well spent.
My son is very worried as a Labrador in his village has been stolen. The thieves lifted a fence panel out of the concrete posts in broad daylight and stole him. Apparently the owners had seen chalk marks on the pavement outside their house and thought the children had been playing hopscotch, but this is how the despicable thieves target where a dog lives. I think Charlie's every movement will be watched now.
How devastating for the family to lose a much loved family member in this way, my heart breaks for them.
