Joss Naylor
I dropped Mr P off at 9 this morning to accompany friend Andy on the 3rd leg of the Joss Naylor Challenge; a 48 mile 30 peaks route through the Lake District to be done within a set time that depends on your age. Andy here in front here without a backpack (the support walkers are carrying his stuff) is the same age as me which means he's got 24 hours to finish. Mr P wants to do the challenge but needs to wait until next year. If he did it this year he'd have to finish in 18 hours which he's not sure he could manage. Its Andy's second attempt, last time he was 15 mins over the 18 hr limit and said it was poor nutrition over the day.
Today he started at Pooley Bridge at 00:49 and at the time of posting I can see he's going to manage about 21 hours. He'll be delighted to tick this one off.
If you want to see a photo of the Joss Naylor who did the route in 1990 and set the challenge - he's featured on Blip here .
J&V have gone home, I've got my office back and have posted yesterday's cave and the day before's wild flowers
