The Rock Houses
On Kinver Edge. We've had a fabulous day walking on the Edge, through the wild flower meadow, past the allotments and up the steep steps to visit the incredible Rock Houses. Wish I could attach a link but wifi is not playing ball this evening. If you're interested though you could research them: National Trust/Kinver. The walk up to the houses was an effort on this, the hottest, day of the year, but well worth it. The houses are amazing hewn out of the sandstone rock and have ambient temperatures throughout the year. Especially nice on a day like today. We couldn't actually go into the houses (Corvid rules at the moment) but could have a peek through open doors and windows and could feel the coolness and relive the history. Mr HB braved the steep ascent further up to the Hill Fort which after much puffing and panting he said the fantastic views from the top were well worth the strenuous effort.
The sweet peas we saw on the allotments are for Flower Friday. Thanks to BikerBear for hosting.
PS. At 7pm it's raining and I think there'll be more to come tonight.
