Another coffee mate

A roasting hot start to the day with temperatures in the low 20's by 8 a.m., so mid morning I took my coffee to sit in the shade of the pergola fully expecting to be joined, as usual, by the duty Robin. However a young hedgehog was already in residence - unusual to see one in broad daylight -so  I put down some hedgehog food and left him in peace; 30 minutes later when I checked, he had gone and so had most of the food.Will try feeding again overnight. Summer was over by early afternoon when mist and low cloud rolled in from the sea and temperatures swiftly fell.
