Worst Herb Garden Ever!

I demonstrated my prowess at gardening again today.

I must have planted hundreds of seeds during lockdown: dill, sage, chives and six different types of basil - some old but some new - and this is what I have grown!!!

I did begin to wonder which of my crop it was; it didn't look familiar.  Turns out it probably a weed; White Goosefoot (Chenopodium Album).  However the joke is that this is extensively cultivated and consumed in Northern India as a food crop know as 'bathua'.

I won't be eating in; I think that you need to eat the shoots young, and they contain high levels of oxalic acid.

So, not (quite) a complete disaster!
