A glittering affair

The annual Scottish Life Sciences dinner brings together over 700 people, roughly half of whom I know as its a very sociable community. This photo was taken during one of the speeches, a short interval of stillness in a very lively evening.
The table decorations had a very striking resemblance to virus structures, which seemed rather appropriate.
