Dobson Locks

I've extended my comfort zone a little today and got on the bike, a first since the start of lockdown.  I pedalled down in to the valley and picked up the canal towpath all the way to Apperley Bridge where I came off and headed to friend Jean's for a cuppa and yummy bikkies in her back garden.  Friend John arrived too.  The three of us shared an office for a while, when we were all still teaching, and it was sometimes a place of refuge, often a place of laughter with the occasional practical joke thrown in for good measure.   It was great to share stories and catch up with families, bemoan the state of things , discuss the merits or otherwise of masks, hear about DIY projects and experiences of going over the Bealach na Ba.

On the way home the towpath was much busier as the sun had appeared.  I'm pleased to record that there were many greetings; good social distancing and an all round pleasant feel to the ride.
