New Start

For Little Ro, who is buying her first house soon...

M and D have been to look, but I hadn't, so went with her this afternoon. It was drizzly and damp but I was very happy as it was only 16 degrees- perfect!

It's a two-bedroom cottage/period house in her spiritual hometown, Ascot! It's number 17, and Gramps's house was also 17, so we think it's meant to be! She's really excited, and I'm glad she's feeling optimistic. She took a cardboard prototype of the headboard she wants to get for her bed to see if it fit up the stairs, but it's not looking like it will.

It's nicely done, although she'll want to paint it and make it her own. It has a downstairs bathroom which wouldn't suit me, but she doesn't seem to mind. I found it a bit claustrophobic, but it's not my house, is it?

I got my revision back from the typesetter and I've spent the evening going through it all again. Truth be told, I don't care anymore, except I do! It's just exhausting reading, copying, correcting etc. I've spent the time sorting out the paragraphing, but I can't help but think somebody else should be doing this for me! I can't wait for it to be done.

Still tinkering with the front cover, but it's pretty close. My mum likes the teal blue, so I might go with that. Now I've just go to think of a teaser-line....
