Cathcart Old Parish church

On my way home tonight without a single picture taken all day, when I came across Cathcart Old Parish church all lit up in the dark. It really is a great looking buildng and the lighting really makes it stand out.

I'm a bit ambivalent about lighting things up as we have way too much light pollution as it is, but in the end I really love landmark buildings or bridges that have been illuminated.

The best thing would be if we could do away with all the stray orange light from street lights that throws light out indiscriminately in all directions instead of concentrating it downward where it is needed and wanted. If we did that then perhaps we would be able to see some stars, the night sky wouldn't be orange and lighting up landmarks would be extra special.
