Start of Hadrians Wall

With tourist numbers in the Lakes high, we thought getting out of the area on a Sunday might be a good idea. We drove out to Port Carlisle on the Solway, which marks the start of Hadrians Wall - in fact this shed-like building, known as the pavilion marks the start. On the Gable end is engraved:
