Ptarmigan

Ptarmigan? Well what else could it be up in the North East of Scotland. This particular bird has been caught in the photograph while admiring itself in the mirror. But of course it is a very handsome bird.

The photograph is an exercise for a wet day. The ornament was given to me in Italy, so the inspiration may lie in the Apennines rather than the Highlands of Scotland.
