I have a love/hate relationship with Echiums.  They seed like crazy and if you don't keep on top of them they get very weedy - and very large.  They grow into large shrubs and the trunks get woody and hard.

On the other hand the flowers are beautiful, and the bees and small honey eaters love them at a time of year when there is little else available.
