Eastern carpenter bee

A good  pollinator as can be seen in the extra where its pollen basket is full. The carpenter bee does chew through wood, often where you don't want it to! I find sawdust on the floor in the metal barn where it has chewed on the rafters. The female chews holes to lay the eggs in the wood.
