Highland Coos!

I've been wanting to see Highland Coos for some time, they're such lovely, hairy creatures that always look so friendly despite their long horns!  And when I saw an instagram post the other day of some at Chanctonbury Ring, I just had to go and see them, so we went up there this morning.

It's the first time we've been there, and what a wonderful walk it is - it's up hill all the way through woodland and the Chanctonbury Ring hill fort  standing at the top of the hill dates back to the bronze age.  I've added a link if you're interested in reading about it.  On the way there we met one of my instagram friends Jayn, she'd also been up there to see the Coos so was able to tell us where they were and we spotted them straight away.  They were lovely and not worried about me being there at all, and let me get quite close - obviously I didn't get too close, I did use my zoom.  We then walked up to the hill fort where we sat and had a drink - the view from the top was amazing.

Once back at Bertie we sat and had a picnic before heading home, and this afternoon I've watched catch up TV while the lamb shanks were cooking in the slow cooker.  They're just about ready so I'll go and put out the dinner and will try to catch up with you later.
