Heavy traffic

Last night for the first time in ages we were caught in heavy traffic.  Our five minute journey took 20 minutes.   It started near home when we discovered that the road we normally use was closed, a police officer was on duty.  We took the detour around town and got caught in the ensuing jam.  We later found out that a member of The Royal Family, possibly the King's daughter was visiting Chiang Mia.  Traveling home was just as difficult as the traffic was still heavy.  Just to add to the fun it began to rain,  the few spots very quickly became a downpour.  It took half an hour to get home following a few detours undertaken by our very friendly regular driver.  We just laughed about the rain.  We arrived home happy and slightly damp.  Our mode of transport these days is a tuk tuk.
