Surviver

We have just had one of the heaviest downpours that I can remember. It only lasted a few minutes but that was enough for the road to flood. When it stopped I went out to look for a raindrops on flowers blip and found what I thought was a greenfly, just above the water level in this flower. My monitor screen revealed that it’s actually a tiny spider, but my question would be the same, how do such tiny creatures survive torrential rain?
