Black-eyed Susan

Jill planted these a few years ago, but they only came up in the yard now. She said she had no luck here, but for whatever reason, they grew well in the neighbor's yard. Somehow her seeds crossed the fence and thrived. But she saw these yesterday when cutting weeds and was excited.

This is the state flower of Maryland.
