Unexpected

When you least expect it, something happens that gladdens your heart with the kindness of people.
In this case the ‘something’ was a small box l found outside my door today, sent by my niece in Fort William and containing ‘Mirrie Dancers’ chocolates. Mirrie Dancers is the Shetlanders’ name for the Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis and the chocolates are from a Chocolatier in Lerwick. She sent them because she knew how much I was missing my visit to Orkney and Shetland this year. Such a kind thought. Thank you Carol!

The rain when I surfaced this morning was biblical, but when it eased off a bit I scuttled down to the Apple store to trade in my old I watch for a newer version. I found it all very stressful behind my mask on a morning of heat and high humidity trying to hear the instructions given to me to unpair the old watch with my I phone and reset it. I think the assistant was wondering what was coming next as I first of all removed my coat and then my cardigan. However with the purchase finally complete I celebrated with a coffee in one of the Costa Cafés that allows for sitting inside.

Last night on the other side of the railings , there was drama going on but unfortunately I could not make out what it was all about. There were 5 police cars and an ambulance in attendance to some disturbance. Life in the Meadows these days is like a set from of the programme ‘Ambulance’
