Sign of 'Older Times'
Today's blip is a sign of the 'old times'.
My parents- now both sadly diseased, owned a Grocers shop for the whole of my life. Being 'brought up' behind the counter so to speak I doubt I could ever work in a shop of any kind! It's not that I didn't like it, on the contrary, as a child, can you imagine living in what I thought was a 'sweetie shop'.
But Mum and Dad were 'slaves' to it and Dad only shut it under protest after Mum was hospitalized, from which she didn't recover.
It's now 'Harmony Health & beauty salon in Walton-le-Dale and they've done a splendid job on the conversion of the building.
I took this sign with me when it was sold and it hangs 'proudly' on the wall of my garden shed.
Thanks to ROWAN, who blipped Tesco yesterday which inspired a conversation about good old customer service -verses-automated checkout till's.
