Lochore Meadows Country Park

The walk round Lochore  is approximately 3.5 miles, which we achieved over about an hour and a half, mainly in sunshine.

The extra shows a few highlights (tortoiseshell, small heath and small white butterflies and a flight of incoming geese). In fact geese were arriving on the loch all the time, or feeding on the adjacent field. A mix of berry trees -rowan, hawthorn, blackthorn - and wild cherry plantings will see the smaller birds through winter.

The path is mainly ash or tarmac, so suitable for the many cycles, pushchairs as well as feet, all of which were strongly represented but at no time crowded.

The play area, however, was teeming, and rightly so as it was furnished with an interesting variety of climbing equipment that I know a certain small boy would have loved to sample.
