Xmas lunch

we finally had our twice postponed office Xmas lunch today at the Sorn Inn, a lovely restaurant/pub in the small village of Sorn, in the middle of nowhere. In Ayrshire actually, about an hour's drive from the office.

We love the food here, but don't know how it survives. Four of us were the only people in the restaurant, and there were a few people in the bar. however, it has great tripadvisor ratings, well deserved.

Highlight was the warm chocolate fondant pudding with peanut brittle ice cream and chunks of honeycomb - which we used to call cinder toffee where I grew up. nothing else for me to eat today, just a wee snooze before aquafit!!

I do like a restaurant that puts fresh flowers on the tables, even when there aren't many people to enjoy them. These coral coloured roses were lovely.
