Thank Friday it's Fraochaidh

Last day of the hols and I couldn't resist the good forecast. I headed up to Appin, dumped the bike at Duror and parked the car at Ballachulish. I then walked up the lovely Gleann an Fhiodh along what felt like an ancient right of way, no doubt followed by some of the poor Macdonalds as they scarpered from the Redcoats in 1692

I followed the undulating ridge as clouds lifted from all surrounding mountains and sat at the summit for my lunch. Deviating from any guidebook route, I then carried on west to do a full traverse of the mountain since there is now a track built through the forestry to near 400m on the shoulder of A'Chruach. With my satellite imagery to hand, I was able to find the path end and follow it easily down to Duror and the bike. 30mins later I was back in Ballachulish. Saw no-one on the hill all day.
