FOX of Moorgate

When I was 16 and a boy in one of the firms on the Stock Exchange in London, a senior partner sent me out of the office on a rainy day to the shop in Moorgate to pick up an umbrella he had ordered on the phone.

I paid the chap £40. Sounds like allot for an umbrella. Just imagine how expensive that was in 1976 then. Needless to say, I didn't try it out on the way back to the office and that wise decision is probably the reason I'm still in a stock exchange company 37 years later.

I love these old shops and buildings, they are what makes the City special and traditional.
