Today's the day ………………….. to fly by

This Red Admiral butterfly was exactly where you might expect it to be on this calm, sunny afternoon.

The buddleia bushes are a glorious mass of these tightly packed flower spikes, alive with all kinds of bees and butterflies - who probably think they've just died and gone to heaven.  It's a wonderful time of the year.

And, if we're lucky, we'll get a visit before long from Vanessa 's cousin Cynthia, commonly known as 'the Painted Lady'.  She's another very colourfully classy sort of creature ………………..
