With a change in the weather due, I made the most of the sunny morning and drove to the far side of Torbay and the nature reserve at Berry Head.
I wouldn't normally contemplate this journey in late July because of the traffic but because I'm still trying to get my bloods taken (and Im still trying to get them taken!!) I thought I could combine a bit of nature before calling into the hospital on the way back.
I spent a couple of hours chasing butterflies and getting strange looks from 'grockles' as I lay amongst the plants
The butterflies and bees are attracted to the area by a huge variety of wild flowers and grasses. This Bumble Bee is feeding on a creeping thistle I think and it is one of the few shots with acceptable sharpness. The gusty conditions made it difficult today.
Met up with a couple of friends and we sat gazing out to sea watching porpoises and dolphins.
Again the images aren't worth blipping but it was a wonderful sight.
I will be returning again soon in order to get some better results
