El Condor Pasa

Today it's Chinese New Year.

Together with the local council, my workplace is organising a Chinese-themed afternoon, culminating later in a concert.

During my lunchtime break I went to watch the organisors set up shop, (and for a bit of a nose around).
I walked into the hall where rehearsals were taking place, nobody seemed to mind me gatecrashing, so I took a seat and listened to a three-piece group, consisting of a man on classical guitar, another with a little drum 'thing', and a woman playing the Chinese piano.
They played a mixture of songs, traditional Chinese, Eidelweiss and this one, El Condor Pasa.

I later learnt the piano is called a yangqin, and the helpful interpreter wrote it down for me (see photo), complete with its Chinese letters.

I asked the main organiser if I could come and take photos later, no, it was full. Harumph. But... with a bit of persistence I seem to have managed to blag my way in after all. *Smug face*.

I'd rather feel the earth beneath my feet.
Yes, I would.

Update, on edit: thoroughly enjoyed it, there was a speech by the major of Tilburg, apparently the event was bought forward because as from tomorrow he has to give up his seat to the 'Prince of Carnival' for four days. The whole thing was a wonderful surprise, 90 minutes of puppets, fighting warriors, dancers and more puppets. Superb!
Here's a taster.
