Just a Duck

.....and that's all I've got for today.  I think it is a female Mallard, but it is missing the blue and white wing bars and has a quite a yellow bill, so I am unsure and it will have to remain:  just a duck.

It was another unbearably hot day today with the heat index well over 100.  We drove out to Manassas to drop off a photo of mine for a friend's daughter.  It is a photo of a French Horn that I had taken backstage while we were on the National Symphony European tour in 2016.  Their daughter had played the French Horn through high school and college and when they saw the photo they wanted to give her a framed copy for her upcoming birthday. 

We visited with her briefly outside while socially distanced and then headed into DC to Haines Point for a little picnic.  Even in the shade, it was pretty unpleasant so we ate but didn't stay long, and came home to our nicely air-conditioned home. No more picnics until it cools off a bit.
