So what does this seemingly very conscious and alert lady have to do with drugs you may ask? Maybe, if I could give Huey an answer to his search, these things that "Manang" here sells would be it. "Ma-ma" or "nga-nga" as we call it, is a concoction made up of the nut of a certain palm, a pinch of lime powder and a few slivers of tobacco leaves all rolled into a betel nut leaf. It's used like chewing tobacco and supposedly gives the "chewer" an extra boost of adrenaline.
