Heron Cross pottery

I forgot to take a photo today until evening. I had friends in the Stoke on Trent area as it was only 20 miles away when I lived in Macclesfield. I got a lot of my dinner service from the seconds shop in Hanley. Nearly all the pottery manufacturers have gone now and it’s such a shame. My friend and her husband moved to the Lake District to buy a chip shop to run with her parents due to the lack of jobs. I looked up the make of this jug and was surprised to find it’s still open. People from that area were known as pot turners because they turned over table ware to see where it was made. I still find myself doing it while I’m out.
