Boathouse on Derwent Isle
It's been very dull and rainy for the last day of my trip. I didn't intend to drive anywhere as there'll be quite enough driving to do tomorrow. I busied myself with various chores and stuff and after lunch it seemed to have stopped raining. I quickly suited and booted and took myself off to the shores of Derwentwater to see what I could find for the Wide Wednesday challenge, which is hosted today by Freyjad.
The first shot I took was of the boat house on the island opposite the jetties. It's an image I've always liked but the light rarely seems right. I took this from the end of the far jetty, it seems in a bit of a poor state and the far end is taped off to prevent anyone walking on that bit. I'm quite pleased with the shot especially considering the light was so poor. The only thing is it's not especially wide but it meets the theme of 'Water' so I'm satisfied. I have made up for it by adding a very wide one as an extra. It was taken with my phone at Strandshag Bay. The quality isn't much from my old phone but I think it makes quite a good panorama and is a record of today's weather, if nothing else. The second extra is of those lovely pine trees on Friars Crag.
One of the things I did this morning was to update my album of the trip and if you'd like to see some of the ones I didn't blip you can find them here.
It looks like another wet day for my trip home but if it holds off for long enough I'll see if I can find another Lakes blip to put up.
