A postcard from Winchester

Yesterday I messaged the kids to see if they fancied a walk/ trip somewhere as the weather looked quite good. Sim was going away for a few days to celebrate Natalie’s birthday. Josh & Natalie were free in the afternoon and then Rebecca said she had planned to go to Winchester with Mo and we were welcome to join them. As they don’t have time together very often I did say we can leave our trip for another day but she said it would be nice for us all to go out, so join them we did.

Lucy and I met Rebecca and Mo by the cathedral and we grabbed a drink (and a sandwich for me) in a coffee shop... a first for me since lockdown and Josh and Natalie met us there. We then had a wander down some back lanes and along the river, which was moving at an extraordinary speed, through some more lanes where we spotted this artist painting his view and back through the High Street. A good 3 hours of wandering and then we headed back to Joshs for refreshments before heading home. I have to say I felt completely exhausted after an afternoon out.
