A Very Hot and rather Long Day
It was really gorgeous this morning - a soft breeze and mild temps. I played in our first women's golf tournament this year. Normally we have at least one a month, but these are unusual times. The golf pros and the women who organize these events did an amazing job and it was all totally safe and fun. It was our annual member guest tournament although I played with three women I already know.
But it was another very hot day and of course here in western Oregon our temps peak around 4:00 pm so it just kept getting hotter. Fortunately we had all sorts of ways to keep cool, including misting bottles and neck wraps that one soaks in water, and of course a lot of water to drink. I played really well actually even though I was a noodle by the end.
Meanwhile, some of the garden is looking a little sad what with this extreme heat. But this lovely cabbage butterfly found Verbena bonariensis - Tall Verbena - to keep it nourished this afternoon.
