Good Cheer

We had dinner with our very good friends A and his wife C tonight at their house. I took a bottle of The Dissident to share with them, and it was much appreciated. It was my first tasting of the latest release, and although the label said Best after August 2013, it was superb! I'll definitely be keeping a few bottles in the cellar for a while.

C served us a delicious hearty stew -- very appropriate for today's blustery wet weather -- together with a bottle of wine from Narbonne, one of the Languedoc cities we've all visited. A and C did a long bicycle tour of the region last summer.

Time passed quickly as the conversation ranged over a wide range of topics, including tales of woe about our home renovation and their new garage construction. Misery loves company!
