Faint Sun

A pale sun made its best attempt at breaking through the cloud cover. For once the reflected light on the water was not blinding and contrasted nicely with the dark backlit leaves in a shady spot under an ash tree. Gentle ripples created a backdrop of wavy lines from the reflected reeds.

Exposing for the brightest area left the shadows quite blocked up. I adjusted the darks to give the leaves some definition.

After sunset, the sky was very colourful with an unusual blue patch (see extra). Unfortunately I didn't make a good enough capture to reflect my recollection and consequently my edit is not as clean as I would like.
