Noble's Rest

Nipped into Kendal to collect some online underwear orders from M&S  ( my bit to help the struggling retailer) and took the scenic route back to the car through Noble's Rest, a park set up by the wife of Kendal surgeon Samuel Noble .  The central floral display was looking pretty good.
Today's adventure was cancelled because R felt unwell . He often gets 24hr sickness bugs, let's hope it's that and not the dreaded virus.  Such a shame, it's his birthday today.

Day 122
110 deaths up to 45, 422. Boris hopes things will get back to normal by Christmas but a Wellcome Trust specialist says we will have to learn to live with the virus for very many years. Does this means that this Friday's commencement of mandatory face masks in shops in England will be the new norm for years.   Fashion designers are entering the facemask market in an effort to make masks people want to wear. Even the Orange One has been seen in a mask.

Lots of public sector workers get a payrise, is there a bottom to Rishi's purse?

And have they resolved the counting discrepancy between nations - in England any death of a person who has tested +ve for the virus is included even if they die of something else.  Someone on the radio pointed out that there have been 290,000 confirmed cases of the virus and everyone will die at some point so will all deaths be blamed on the virus. In Scotland I think there is a 28 day limit, which on the other hand might be too short because some people have long lasting after effects.

The WI's residential college which was established in 1948 takes the decision to close . The virus was the last straw after years of financial difficulties.
