Better the devil you know

Up at a reasonale hour, our new neighbours have begun various works on the house nextdoor, so dont think there will be any lie-ins
over the next few weeks ;-)

Weather today has been ok, warm in the sun.
A walk into town this morning, pain not too bad but took a couple of painkillers to be on the safe side. We had lunch in Reds, always nice, as is their coffee. Afterwards we picked up a couple of things en route home.

The afternoon has been taken up with car washing, hoovering, edging the back lawn, watering the hanging baskets, drinking the odd cuppa.....my back just about held up edging the lawn, hub picked up the clods, I swept the paths.....7500 steps, so not too bad.

Dinner tonight for me was roasted vegetables, with chilli couscous and griddled chilli halloumi. Hub had a cold platter as we had rather more at lunchtime ;-)

Ive had another stab at photographing "red", my nemesis. LooseCanon kindly shared a tip recently having blipped a crocosmia.....so here are some of our Lucifer variety, rather tall and statuesque, and very bright red against our paler fence....they really do look like they are "jumping out" dont you think? Well they do in real life, not sure I've captured that exactly, but god loves a tryer :-)

The garden is looking good at the moment.... we have a decision to make about our big maple tree behind the summerhouse, that is whether it has to go or not :-/. Its dripping sap all over the new patio, summerhouse windows and furniture, something we hadnt realised it did. It is relatively easily cleaned, but its been constant all summer......decisions decisions!!

TV tonight no doubt, no idea whats on!

Take care all
