Let there be light!

I thought that we had resolved this whole electricity thing! Our dams are full of water and, I think, the dams which were under repair have been repaired and thus there should be sufficient water to churn out many mega watts of stuff. But apparently not. And so we had a brown out.

It is not too bad - quite peaceful in a way. But it makes for cold showers and prevents us from seeing the bathroom in the middle of the night. And that is why we returned to the good ol' hurricane lamps. Truly, someone knew what they were doing when they designed these things! Doesn't smell too good and can get a bit smokey if the wick is up too high but it does what is should and without a lot of fuss! This one was in our hallway outside the kids room...took it before leaving the house this morning!
