Emerald

Walking round Trench Wood this morning at 6:30 was a tad early for the dragons and damsels. The wood was sleeping and it wasn't until the sun started to filter through the trees into the clearing that life stirred. 

This beautiful emerald damselfly was one of the first to wake and perch on the stalk near the edge of the pond to warm up and warm up it needed to as even I was a bit nippy standing around waiting.
