2020 Monday — FaceTime
We were enjoying the afternoon view, when my phone alerted me that granddaughter Ashly and little RJ were connecting with a FaceTime call. That’s always exciting.
Little RJ is full of energy and “go” is his constant behavior. Watching him is lots of fun. They have moved into a brand new big house which is called “next gen,” because it is really two houses with a grandparents pad on one side and “commons” area in the middle and upstairs are 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms (one of those bedrooms is a big master bedroom and bath and another is a guest room with its own bathroom). The upstairs also includes a “loft,” which is similar to a family room or living room.
So Ashly has set-up their loft area with a sofa and chairs and a kazillion toys for RJ. A “baby door” has been installed at the top of the staircase so little RJ cannot fall down the stairs. Another “baby door” has been installed at the bottom of the stairs so when they are down in the “commons” RJ cannot get up the stairs.
When we spoke with them RJ was having a blast playing in the pool of balls his mommy has constructed for him. Ashly is a school teacher and knows about activities and all the things to keep RJ active and learning.
I’m thankful for FaceTime which gives us the opportunity to see and talk to RJ, especially when we are here on the Central Coast. When we are in SoCal it is also a good way to stay connected with him, but it is sad that Covid19 is keeping us apart.
We were delighted to see and speak with them today.
We went to the Farmers Market in Los Osos earlier this afternoon to get soup. Much of the fun and joy of attending it have vanished because people must stand in long lines to get into the farmers market (which is outdoors but all roped off) and then they must stand in line, six feet apart, at each booth.
