I dont usually put up Birds on power lines! Being a bit of a purist I always try and eliminate the " hand of Man " from my Natural history shots. HOWEVER I'm getting older and hopefully wiser and do accept that power lines are a very important part of a Kingfishers environment - They spend quite a lot of time there - looking for their prey - So Here-tis!!
I think this one is a youngster and is developing its royal plumage. It looked quite dull when it was facing the other way but the light has brightened it up. I liked the catchlight in its eye too !!
