Loch an Spoiraid
Loch of the Spirits was very still and calm but when downpours were on the way became an excellent candidate for a Mono Monday shot.
The Loch is partly man made. There is a grass and Heather covered earth dam at the west end of the Lochan. This measures 6m in breadth and is a metre high and was probably constructed to form a large duck shooting pond. The Loch was created as a reservoir to aid the floating of timber down the Nethy to the Spey. The remains of a sluice can still be seen by the shore of the Loch.
