Might be spiders?

According to Dr Google the tiny red "spiders" that you sometimes see, about a millimeter small, are not actually spiders but spider mites.
I'm in the Burren for a weekend, my first trip out of Dublin in 4 months,
and these little fellas were wandering about on a limestone window sill.
I liked the contrast of the red mites and the grey carboniferous limestone
(I'm assuming the builders used local limestone and didn't import it from China!). .
