Stunning location
The Minack Theatre in Cornwall. Carved out of the cliff edge. We couldn't have pre-booked our visit for a better day. We felt like we were on far away shores given the sunshine, the colour of the clear blue sea, the sandy beaches where the water was green, the dramatic cliffs & coves, the exotic plants and the yachts.
Hubby sacrificed his trip to stay at the campsite with Caesar so that we could all go off and enjoy the visit, which I have wanted to do for a very long time. It didn't disappoint.
We had bought front row tickets to see a Shakespeare play there (was supposed to be Monday) but, unfortunately, due to Covid-19, it was cancelled. Throughout our few hours there, we watched an actor (David Mynne) rehearsing away for the next play to go ahead instead...a virtuoso solo performance of Great Expectations! He was incredible. We tried to get tickets but they had sold out in a flash.
We spent the afternoon just relaxing, taking in the breathtaking view, watching the actor with his props, eating ice cream and generally people watching.
Before the theatre, we had spent the morning in Marazion. The beach & town were busy but everyone was sticking to guidelines. Boards announced that St Michael's Mount Castle was fully booked - pre-booked visitors only. This is the new normal.
We had delicious cheese & veg Philp's pasties and my daughter had a chance encounter with her Uni lecturer too! What were the odds?
