Stunning...

A very fresh peacock butterfly in the sunshine at Old Moor today. It's the first time that I have been there since lockdown. They are about to open it up more - 3 hides, but not Green Lane or the reedbeds. I decided I'd go before they announce this and it felt very safe. One way systems around the bits of the reserve that are open and they have put floor to ceiling plastic screens in the hides to turn them into booths. Hide doors and windows open too. I had a good chat to a friend and we were separated by one of these screens...butterflies, bittern and a kingfisher. Not many insects however, I would have expected many more.
